A garden, a field, materials, flowers in a worksite, that surrounds us, a rest, a wall, a center, whisperings, wind, soft, powerful, fortuitous, gracious, intangible. A bench. Some places in the middle of Eoles’ fields, sometimes captured, sometimes cultivated. deface est la première installation sonore de Joël Lavoie. Des fluctuations atmosphériques générées par les algorithme chaotiques d’Edward Lorenz sont interprétés par un système de synthèse et traitements sonores qui sont retransmis à des transducteurs de surfaces dissimulés dans un arrangement arbres conditionnés par l’homme et disposés dans l’espace comme un jardin qui résonne au gré du vent. L’auditeur est invité à s’assoir sur le petit banc au centre du jardin et entendre ces sublimations chaotiques.

deface is the first sound installation of Joël Lavoie. Atmospheric fluctuations generated by the chaotic algorithms of Edward Lorenz are interpreted by a synthesis and sound modification system and then retransmitted to transducers placed in an arrangement of trees conditioned by the hand of man. Placed in the space like a small garden who sings the wind. The listener is invited to sit on the small bench in the center of the garden and hear the chaotic sublimations of the wind.
